The stunning wedding pictures as Wales rugby stars Gareth Anscombe and George North both get married

Two of Wales' biggest rugby stars were married over the weekend in stunning ceremonies on opposite sides of the world.

Gareth Anscombe and partner Milica Bubanja tied the knot on Waiheke Island in the company of family, friends and team-mates, while George North and former Olympic cyclist Becky James held their wedding at Glanusk estate in Crickhowell.

Wales international Anscombe, who has left Cardiff Blues to join regional rivals Ospreys this summer, proposed to Milica in Barcelona in January 2017 .

Milica joined Anscombe, 28, in Wales in 2014 after his rugby career saw him sign for the Arms Park team.

Among the guests were Hadleigh Parkes and wife Suzy, as well as Alex Cuthbert and his other half Sarah Connolly and Wales and Cardiff Blues scrum-half Lloyd Williams.

The couple's stunning wedding photographs, a selection of which you can see in the gallery below, were taken by Frank and Peggy Photography.

North's wedding was attended by a host of rugby stars, with Wales centre Scott Williams performing best man duties. Sam Warburton, whose wife Rachel was among the bridesmaids, was also there, alongside the likes of Leigh Halfpenny, Aled Davies and James Hook.

North's former Northampton team-mate, England star Courtney Lawes was also a guest.

George, 27,  and former cycling track sprinter Becky, 27, who retired from the sport in 2017, live in the Vale of Glamorgan and got engaged over Christmas 2017.

She now runs her own successful cake business, Baked by Becks .

Speaking to WalesOnline a week before his wedding, North, who had his stag do at the Monaco Grand Prix with Williams, Warburton and others, said: “I’m looking forward to the wedding. We have been together for almost eight years after meeting through a mutual friend.

“Becky is up to her eyeballs with baking cakes. A couple of weeks ago she had seven to do in a week and is working really hard.

“We have got a few close mates’ weddings happening as well. It’s wedding season for rugby players in June!

“A good weekend was had by all (on the stag do). I think Scott organised it for himself more than me!”
