The stunning 'hidden gem' waterfall tucked away in Nottingham park

We're heading into spring and the weather warms up so many of us will want to be getting out and about for nice walks and fresh air.

Nottingham has plenty of beauty spots for blowing away the cobwebs including a number with stunning waterfalls which are great places to clear your head.

If you want to have a stroll by a waterfall and don't want to travel miles away to do it, look no further than Highfields Park in Nottingham.

The park, which is located alongside University Boulevard, is usually extremely popular due to its boating lake and mini golf.

But not everyone knows about the waterfall tucked away further back.

It adjoins the University of Nottingham's campus and has 121 acres for people to enjoy.

Along with the lake, there is also the waterfall which makes for the perfect photo opportunity.

One reviewer on Google described the park as a "hidden gem".

They wrote: "Well worth a visit, I could go back here again and again if I live close by. It's like a hidden gem, not easy to find and the parking if you're not from around the area. However I was surprised when I got there, the view was amazing. Would definitely recommend the place to visit"

Another wrote: "Can’t say enough how I loved the park. Lake, playground, café, exhibition hall, the ice cream truck. Great for jogging, walking dogs and weekend picnic!"

And a third added: "Very scenic park along with various types of ducks and a beautiful lake! good for a walk any day."

Highfields Park is owned and maintained by Nottingham City Council. It located alongside University Boulevard, adjoining the University of Nottingham's University Park campus.

There is parking at the site.
