The stunned reaction from Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland after receiving gift from Swansea City legend Michu

Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland has been wowing football fans across the globe with his sensational performances of late.

But it was the youngster himself who was left stunned when he received a gift from his footballing icon Michu today.

It was revealed last week that the Norwegian looked up to the former Swansea City striker when he was growing up, often tagging himself as the Spaniard on his Instagram posts.

Haaland has been a massive hit since his move from RB Salzburg earlier this season, demolishing PSG in the Champions League last week.  He has now scored nine goals in six games for his new club after scoring again at the weekend.

Swans legend Michu admitted that he was flattered by the news of Haaland's admiration for him, adding that he believes the youngster will become a global star.

"It's an honour. I think he's going to be a world-class player," Michu told Spanish media outlet  AS.

"He's a much better player than me."

Now Michu has gone one step further and sent him a signed Burgos shirt with a personalised message on it. The former Swans striker is now sporting director at the club in his homeland.

"Wow what a legend!! #Nice2Michu,"  Haaland tweeted.

He later added a tweet saying: "The streets will never forget" in reference to Michu's stunning record in the Premier League.

The Spaniard has cult-hero status in South Wales after his performances in a white shirt.  Unfortunately, injury saw him hang up his boots early, and he is now forging a career in football off the pitch.

Meanwhile, according to Portuguese outlet Record, Cristiano Ronaldo is Haaland's other hero.

"I would love to meet him and tell him that I am a footballer thanks to him. For me, he was always a role model," he told them after the win over the Parisians last week.

We'll stick with Michu, thanks.
