The Stranger season 2 discussed by writer Harlan Coben after drama is a huge Netflix hit

Writer and producer of The Stranger, Harlan Coben, has gone on the record about the possibility of a second season of the Netflix drama.

Since its release onto the streaming service at the end of January the eight-part thriller, starring Richard Armitage, Anthony Head, Siobhan Finneran and Jennifer Saunders has had viewers binge watching like crazy and

If you still haven't watched it, official Netflix synopsis for The Stranger reads reads 'Adam Price seems to have a charmed existence. Two wonderful sons, a career in law, and most of all, a watertight marriage to his soulmate, Corinne, a teacher at the local school.  Adam is living the dream.

'Until one night a stranger sits down next to him in a bar. ‘She lied, Adam. Corinne made it up, she was never pregnant. One more thing, if I were you, I’d run DNA checks on your two boys.’

We don't want to spoil things if you've yet to start watching the series, but suffice to say, that is just the tip of the iceberg and 'the stranger' delivers bombshell revelations on a whole host of characters with dramatic and tragic consequences.

And then there's the police mystery of a teenage boy found naked in the woods after a party, not forgetting a decapitated alpaca!

If you have watched The Stranger you'll know things build to a gripping conclusion and and Harlan Coben has now opened up on the possibility of another season.

Speaking to Digital Spy, the author said: "We don't think it's fair to have one of those shows where they don't give you all the answers, and you have to wait until season two before you get it."

"This is a closed story. You learned all the answers by the end, and the ending is tremendously satisfying."

"Could some of the characters return to season two? Maybe, but that's not our plan

"I never say never, but it's not our plan. Our plan is to give you one great, great season."
