A Ligue 1 figure has confessed to stealing a popular Celtic fan anthem - with players signing the tune after a Europa League defeat.
A Rennes chief has revealed that the club took Depeche Mode's 'Just Can't Get Enough' as their own having soaked up the Celtic Park atmosphere back in 2011.
Despite the 3-1 defeat in Glasgow's east end, events manager Julien Boucher has claimed the players couldn't resist belting out the tune on the trip back to France.
The club then decided to play the song after goals at Roazhon Park, taking the eighties hit as their own.
Boucher has opened up on the origin of the celebratory anthem over a decade after is was picked up from Celtic.
He told Paris Beacon: “We loved the atmosphere, the experience. There was such a fellowship, such a respect for traditions. It was an unforgettable trip.
“We all came home with this song in our heads. Everyone sang it on the way back.
“It was the very beginning of music in the stadium. For a long time, we were not allowed to send sound after goals. We did a test and it took well."
10 years on from the Celtic Park trip, he now admitted there is a temptation to change it but doesn't want a fan backlash from any big overhaul.
Boucher added: “One day we will change it. We discussed it with the members of the supporters group and they were OK.
"But we won’t do it like that, overnight. This kind of decision shouldn’t be made by just a few people at the club. You have to be careful."
