The still-smoking, blackened remains of a grass fire that ripped through a Bridgend hillside

This is the scene of a mountain fire in Bridgend which saw more than six hectares of land destroyed.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene of the fire in Blackmill at around 5pm on Tuesday.

The damage left behind by fire at Trecco Bay Holiday Park  

Four fire crews attended the scene to deal with the blaze which could be seen from the village.

The fire affected the forest area of the mountainside and by 7.30pm the area was under control by the fire brigade.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

It is one of a series of devastating fires in the county of Bridgend in as number of days after The damage left behind by fire at Trecco Bay Holiday Park in Porthcawl . There have also been a number of wildfires in open areas.
