The stats that highlight the contrast in Petr Cech's form at Chelsea & Arsenal ahead of final

The day has finally arrived - and the curtain will come down this evening on Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech's playing career as he faces Chelsea in his final game before retirement.

Tonight’s Europa League final in Baku will be the final chapter of Cech’s playing career as he comes up against his old side in Azerbaijan.

And a study from  bettingexpert  suggests the former Chelsea man needs to defy a dip in form since joining Arsenal.

The legendary keeper has been stopping fewer shots per goal, keeping a lower percentage of clean sheets and conceding more goals per game at Arsenal than he was at Chelsea, stats from betting expert  has found.

The four-time Premier League winner’s stats show he was at his best in his early days at Chelsea, which is perhaps unsurprising, given that he kept 24 clean sheets in his debut season with the Blues in 2004-05.

Cech was saving an average of four shots per goal and conceding just 0.6 times per game in his early days at Chelsea, before sustaining a head injury in a game at Reading in 2006, which forced him to wear a protective scrum cap for the rest of his career.

Thereafter in his time at Chelsea, Cech’s clean sheets record dipped from 56 per cent to 47 per cent as he let in more goals per game and made fewer saves per goal.

Since signing for Arsenal, that percentage has dropped again and Cech is now keeping clean sheets just 39 per cent of the time, is conceding a high of 1.1 goals per game and making just 2.9 saves per goal, as can be seen in the graphic above.

As a result, he may need to improve on that if he is to end his career with another title this evening.
