The statistics that prove Kieran Tierney has already surpassed Sead Kolasinac at Arsenal

He may have only played two games for Arsenal so far, but former Celtic defender Kieran Tierney has already made quite the impact.

The summer signing missed the early stages of the season through injury, but recently made his debut in the Carabao Cup third round tie with Nottingham Forest, which the Gunners won 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

The left-back then featured in the 4-0 win against Standard Liege in the Europa League on Thursday, with the 22-year-old recording his first assist for the Gunners as they thrashed the Belgian side.

But his whipped delivery for Gabriel Martinelli to head home was not the only chance he created in the game.

Indeed, Tierney put in five accurate crosses in the Europa League clash, and created four shooting opportunities for his team-mates, according to statistics from Wyscout.

Against Forest, he put in three accurate crosses and created two chances for his team-mates, putting his tally at six chances created in two matches for the Gunners.

And that puts the Scottish international ahead of Sead Kolasinac in terms of the number of chances created for Arsenal so far this season.

That is despite Kolasinac featuring in seven games in all competitions for the Gunners this season, with the 26-year-old playing more frequently since the transfer of Nacho Monreal to Real Sociedad in August.

In those seven games, the Bosnian full-back has supplied three accurate crosses for his team-mates (one vs Bournemouth and two vs Tottenham).

Kolasinac has created four chances for his team-mates this season - two against Watford and two against Tottenham - with the Bosnian defender supplying an assist for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Vicarage Road.

Kolasinac has also provided one assist for his country this season, while he put in five accurate crosses in two games for Bosnia in the last international break as they faced Liechtenstein and Armenia.

But the 26-year-old is now facing increased pressure for the left-back spot at Arsenal, with Tierney now pushing for a start in the Premier League after his fine displays in the Carabao Cup and Europa League.

And Arsenal boss Unai Emery will have a decision to make in the coming weeks as to who is his first choice left-back.
