The summer transfer window is not too far away from opening, although there is uncertainty over how it will work during an unprecedented time for football.
The Premier League, along with the majority of other leagues around Europe, have been put on hold due to the outbreak of coronavirus around the world.
But that doesn’t stop rumours about who may be arriving at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium from circulating.
One player who has been heavily linked is Norwich City full-back Max Aarons who has impressed in his debut Premier League campaign this season.
During a Q&A with fans on Friday afternoon, football.london’s Tottenham Hotspur Correspondent Alasdair Gold gave the latest on Spurs’ links with the Canaries’ defender.
“Aarons is a player that Spurs really like, he ticks a lot of the boxes; a homegrown player, Premier League experience, a young player,” he said.
“He literally is the perfect example of a Spurs transfer, so I would be stunned if they don’t go for him, even more so if Norwich get relegated.”
Another name who continues to be linked with a return to N17 is Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale, however, Gold isn’t so optimistic about any deal with the Welshman happening.
“I still say no, from a nostalgic point of view I’d love to be proven wrong on this one but nothing about the numbers, nothing about his age, nothing about anything to do with the deal makes sense,” he added.
His agent rules it out every single time Spurs are brought up.
