The stat to give Tottenham hope ahead of Champions League second leg vs RB Leipzig

Tottenham Hotspur are in Champions League action tonight as they take on German side RB Leipzig in the second leg of the round of 16 stage of the Champions League.

Jose Mourinho's men go into the game one goal down after a second-half penalty from striker Timo Werner gave the Bundesliga team the advantage at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham found themselves in a similar position in the semi-final of the competition last season, when they went into the away leg against Ajax trailing by one goal.

A Lucas Moura hat trick meant Spurs made it through to the final of the tournament in dramatic fashion.

Leipzig vs Tottenham odds

Tottenham will be hoping for a repeat in Germany as they aim to make it through to the quarter-final, and the team have history on their side.

As revealed by the Champions League official Twitter account, the game against RB Leipzig is the club's fourth round-of 16 tie in the competition. They have won two and lost one of their previous three.

But Spurs have never lost away from home at the stage of the competition.

Should Tottenham wish to make it through, they will have to do so without the help of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Steven Bergwijn, who will all be watching from the sidelines due to injury.
