The stat that proves how well Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is doing at Manchester United

A 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford to Crystal Palace on Saturday has seen Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Manchester United side come under the microscope once again.

The 4-0 demolition of Chelsea on the opening weekend was followed by a frustrating draw with Wolves and the loss to Palace, with missed penalties in both matches proving decisive.

As a result, pressure on United's players has increased significantly and plenty of talk on social media has orientated around the fact Solskjaer has won just three of his last 11 matches in the league.

While that is alarming and needs to be improved upon, it doesn't show the full picture and Solskjaer's tenure in charge of United has been far more successful.

Since Solskjaer succeeded Jose Mourinho, only Manchester City and Liverpool have fared better than United in the Premier League - with a record of 13 wins in 24 matches giving the Norwegian a 54 per cent win ratio.

That sequence also includes five draws and six defeats, giving United a tally of 44 points since Solskjaer took charge - placing the Reds two points ahead of Arsenal.

On top of that, he has picked up six more points than Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, who many wanted to see appointed at Old Trafford, with the Argentine boss having lost 10 of his last 24 Premier League matches.
