Marvel had a birthday surprise for Simu Liu, the star of the upcoming film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
The studio released the first teaser for the movie on Monday to the apparent surprise of Liu. Of course, Marvel has a knack for putting on a show when it releases trailers and movie titles in an effort to drum up coverage (not unlike this article). So it’s possible Liu and Marvel were executing a choreographed PR stunt. It’s also possible the studio genuinely surprised their star with this teaser trailer, which — by the way — is freaking cool.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings looks like an amazing chapter of Phase 4 for Marvel. Here’s the trailer and Liu’s response.
