The Standard has helped kick off the festive season by hanging bespoke baubles on Covent Garden’s Christmas tree during a special pre-lighting ceremony.
It follows our trip to Wood’s Farm in Solihull in the West Midlands last month to select and fell the tree. Two baubles have been placed on it to celebrate the launch this month of ES Insider, the Standard’s new luxury lifestyle platform centred on celebrities, young royals and society, high fashion and living.
The 55ft spruce is decorated with more than 30,000 fairy lights and will be switched on tomorrow evening.
The Kingdom Choir who sang at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding earlier this year, and at the Standard’s Progress 1,000 party, will perform at the ceremony.
