The staggering transformation set to hit Bolton town centre - see how much it is set to change

Ambitious plans to completely transform Bolton town centre were revealed yesterday, but how do the proposals compare to how the area currently looks?

Struggling shopping centre Crompton Place is set to be knocked down, with a state-of-the-art retail, dining, office and accommodation complex being built in its place.

The new complex, which is being provisionally named ‘Bolton Victoria Square’, is one of five key areas in Bolton Council’s £1.5bn masterplan.

Of the plans, Councillor David Greenhalgh, Leader of Bolton Council said: “We are committed to making Bolton town centre a great place to live, work, shop and visit.

“The council’s £100m fund has resulted in significant developer and investor confidence in Bolton, and it’s great to see such an exciting scheme coming forward with the aim of transforming the heart of the town centre.”
