Arsenal and West Ham have both been linked with Rafael Benitez in recent weeks.
The Gunners have sacked Unai Emery, with Freddie Ljungberg put in charge in an interim role until the club's hierarchy can decide on the direction in which to take the club.
Manuel Pellegrini, meanwhile, is under increasing pressure at West Ham following a poor run of domestic form.
Before the weekend's win against Chelsea, the Hammers went on an eight-game winless streak, including the 4-0 defeat to Oxford United in the Carabao Cup.
Benitez is said to have admirers at Arsenal, though is thought to be lower down their list of potential candidates, with Max Allegri currently rumoured to be the frontrunner.
At the London Stadium, however, he is second favourite to be the next manager after Pellegrini, just behind Eddie Howe in the rankings according to the bookies.
But according to the Daily Mail, Benitez's £12million-per-year contract at Dalian Yifang contains a clause that will see them benefit hugely if he is to be poached by another club.
The Chinese club would reportedly be in line to receive a buyout of over £20million if Benitez did decide to leave his job - though he is reportedly happy currently in China after just five months in the job.
That fee would realistically end the prospect of either club making a move for Benitez.
