A popular Dublin shopping centre has announced it will cancel its upcoming special events over coronavirus fears.
The Square shopping centre in Tallaght had a programme of special events planned in the coming weeks, including a family fun day on March 14.
But management has now decided to cancel the programme in the short term to ensure the well-being of its customers.
Although the shopping centre will continue to operate as normal, the cancellation is being made due to advice about large gatherings and the spread of the virus.
In a statement issued today, the shopping centre said: "While continuing to operate as usual, with all stores open, the management of The Square Tallaght has decided to cancel our programme of Special Events in the short term including our upcoming Family Fun Day on March 14.
"Our priority is health and safety of our customers, and we are heedful of the current advice regarding large gatherings. We look forward to rescheduling these community events when the situation improves."
