A Dublin shopping centre has issued a warning about a competition scam that pretends to be linked to the company.
The Square shopping centre in Tallaght recently created a JD Sports competition on its page.
But fans of the shopping centre's Facebook page have since received friend requests from a fake page that's trying to con people into handing over personal details.
The shopping centre reminded people that competitions would only ever be posted on their official page, and that they would never ask people to register their details.
They said: "We are aware that there is a fake page sending friend requests and conning people into registering their details for the JD competition we recently posted.
"This matter has been reported to Facebook. The only Facebook competitions we run are posted on our official page www.facebook.com/TheSqTallaght and we will never ask you to register any of your details if you were chosen as a winner.
"We would like to thank all our customers and Facebook followers who sent us PM informing us of this page."
