The Spurs star who can save Daniel Levy and Mauricio Pochettino millions in the transfer market

Tottenham Hotspur could need a new right-back this summer.

Serge Aurier, who hasn't quite settled in north London, has been linked with a return to France and was said to be on the radar of Ligue 1 outfit Monaco.

Meanwhile, Kieran Trippier is reportedly attracting interest from Juventus - now managed by ex-Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri - and Napoli made their intentions public a couple of months ago.

Should one leave, it's likely that Mauricio Pochettino will need to dip into the transfer market in order to bring in a replacement.

But does he have to?

Juan Foyth's performances at right-back for Argentina at the Copa America may have given the Spurs boss some food for thought and it's one way to save millions in the transfer market.

Pochettino experimented with the defender at right-back towards the end of last season and the 21-year-old is planning talks with his compatriot later this month.

"That I’m playing as a full-back is all down to him," Foyth told Cielo Sports, as per Sport Witness . "One day, we were doing laps around the field and he called me over to talk and asked me if I would feel comfortable playing there.

"Obviously, I wanted to play and knowing that I could do it well, I said yes. I felt really good in the games I played. Over the past two years, I’ve learned a huge amount of things with him and with his staff.

"When I return, the first thing I’ll do is go to his office and talk with him."

One of Foyth's standout showings for La Albiceleste came in the third-place play-off win over Chile when he won five of the seven tackles he attempted and also made five clearances.

Foyth has predominantly been played as a central defender since arriving in north London, but events in the past few months suggests that he could be a potential long-term solution at full-back for both club and country.

With that said, there could be a opening at centre-back amid links with AS Roma for Toby Alderweireld.
