The Spurs record Harry Kane can set that would be perfect to open the new Tottenham stadium

Harry Kane will be desperate for a goal this evening as Spurs play their very first game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadum.

The club's new home was supposed to be set for action against Liverpool in September but ongoing delays meant that the opening date kept getting pushed back.

Spurs have held two events at the 62,062-seater stadium over the past 10 days and now it's all ready for tonight's Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.

Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping the game will see the club get back to winning ways after a run of four defeats in their last five league games has seen them slip down the table and out of title contention.

The team's place in the top four is now in serious doubt with Arsenal now in front of them and Manchester United and Chelsea right behind them.

Kane will be hoping to inspire his side to victory this evening as he targets the very first competitive goal at the stadium.

On target against Manchester United in the final game at White Hart Lane two years ago, the England captain will want to get his name in history books this evening with another strike on a momentous day for the club.

Well, two goals for the frontman tonight and he will become the club's top goalscorer in Premier League home games since the launch of the league back in 1992.

Jermain Defoe currently holds that record with a total of 60 goals, with Kane currently just one behind.

The 25-year-old is odds-on at 8/11 with Sky Bet to score in the match, 16/5 to hit a double and 12/1 to net a hat-trick.
