The Spurs ace who scored extremely highly in L'Equipe's infamous player ratings vs Man City

It's advantage Spurs ahead of next Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final second leg against Man City following their 1-0 win in N17 last night.

Mauricio Pochettino's side were full value for their win and thankfully they netted a crucial goal courtesy of Son Heung-min in the 78th minute.

While it may not be the best lead to take over to the Etihad Stadium, the most important thing is that the team do go over in a favourable position against the Champions League favourites.

A goal for Spurs next Wednesday and it means that City will need to score three goals to progress to the final four of the competition.

A number of Spurs players were in terrific form on Tuesday evening, with the likes of Dele Alli, Toby Alderweireld and Son at their very best.

However, L'Equipe, who are known for their ruthless player ratings, didn't score some of the team's best performers on the night that highly.

The French publication are extremely tough to please and that can be seen by the fact that only nine players have ever received 10/10, with Ajax's Dusan Tadic the last man to achieve that feat following his performance in the last round of the Champions League against Real Madrid.

Well, it may not come as a surprise to many that Frenchman Hugo Lloris was given the highest score of 8/10 by L'Equipe.

Although the goalkeeper didn't have that much to do with Spurs managing to keep City at bay, he did produce a crucial save early on to deny Sergio Aguero from the penalty spot.

Son was just behind the captain with a score of seven, with Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Moussa Sissoko all receiving a six.

Kieran Trippier, Danny Rose, Harry Winks, Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane were awarded fives, while the biggest shock was Alli the lowest mark of the team with a four despite a very good display.

The vast majority of City's team were given the same marking as the midfielder as Riyad Mahrez and Fernandinho came out on top with a rating of six.

The managers were also given a marking for how their teams performed, with Pochettino and Pep Guardiola awarded seven and four respectively.
