The Springburn T-Rex and the other artwork being created by inventive Glasgow runners

While the rain and the cold weather have made an unwelcome appearance in the city as we begin 2020, there's no doubt some folk out there who have put on a brave face and headed out on a run.

Whether that be to cast away the cobwebs of the Christmas and Hogmanay excess or just to kick start a healthy start to the year - as most of us attempt to do anyway, credit where credit is due to those putting the miles in.

And it seems some runners in the city have taken to injecting a bit of humour into their exercise routine, thanks to social fitness network Strava, which maps running exercises using GPS data.

We reported how running group Garscube Harriers pulled off a festive feat and mapped out a city centre reindeer prior to Santa's big visit.

And that was followed up by one runner creating their very own Springburn/Lambhill T-Rex on Boxing Day to scare away the post-Christmas day lethargy.

The same chap also went as far as to create a nice West End face around Hillhead and Woodlands - although we couldn't work out exactly who it was meant to be.

It seems that fellow runner posting on Twitter in response to the T-Rex art work that the "the 'Strava Art' competition is heating up in Glasgow".

Keep up the good work folks!
