The Spring 2024 Haute Couture Beauty Looks You May Have Missed While Looking at the Fashion

Everyone looks forward to the haute couture shows because the presentations have to live up to the clothes. That also applies to beauty. Designers want something dramatic that won't upstage their wares. That's a big ask of any makeup artist or hairstylist. Luckily, the Spring 2024 Haute Couture beauty looks accomplished this seemingly insurmountable feat thanks to the behind-the-scenes teams.

If you're worried the hair bow trend will run out of steam before you get up the nerve to try it, relax. The popular accessory was front and center at the haute couture shows. Christian Dior crowned models' strands with a blink-and-you-miss-it black ribbon tied into a bow. Viktor & Rolf took things up a notch by balancing bows with a top loop. But no one went bigger than Giambattista Valli where ponytails were decorated by both bows and bouquets.

Eyes also got lots of love. The models at Armani Privé sported several different colors of eyeshadow and mascara. Simone Rocha brought back her beloved jewel-encrusted eyes (and, in one case, lips). At Georges Hobeika, a little negative space ensured the cat eyes would really pop. Black strips were fastened to models' eyelids for Alexis Mabille.

Honorable mentions for both Valentino and Yanina. The former used lace as a beauty device to really turn heads. While Yanina focused on blush to make it look like its models had just come in from the cold.

Valentino was all about that lace. Some models sported lace across the bridges of their noses. But it was this full face covering that made the biggest impression.

Simone Rocha was the guest designer for Jean Paul Gaultier this season and she brought along her favorite crystals. Certain models sparkled around the eyes and on one occasion the eyes matched the lips.

Broken cat eyes stole the show at Georges Hobeika. The wings were thick, while skinnier lines were drawn on the inner corners.

Bows and flowers were combined for Giambattista Valli's haute couture show. Some models flaunted bigger bouquets than others.

Strategically-placed blush was swiped on the cheeks and across the noses of models at Yanina leaving them looking flush. It gave a sunburnt effect.

Christian Dior is trying to keep hair bows trending on a smaller scale. Locks were wrapped into low buns and thin black ribbons were tied below the buns to help keep them in place.

The updos at Elie Saab had a 60s vibe to them thanks to their oversize, rounded shape.

Instead of using eyeliner, the makeup artist at Alexis Mabille simply attached long black strips to models' outer corners.

Another bow hairstyle was showcased via Viktor & Rolf. Hair was wrapped into a bun punctuated by a bow in the back and a statement loop on top.
