The Spectator declares 'the end of feminism' - but not everyone agrees

The Spectator’s front cover has declared “the end of feminism” but judging by the reaction online, not everyone is so optimistic.

The current affairs magazine depicts a suffragette with her "votes for women" sign covered with graffiti, reading “all men are scum”, by a screaming woman presumably meant to represent the 21st century equality movement.

“The end of feminism,” reads the headline. “The battle’s won, says Emily Hill. It’s time to move on.”

The article will not be available to read until the magazine hits the shelves tomorrow but the cover is already provoking strong debate on social media.

One person asked whether the headline was a “joke” on Facebook, while another commentator simply called the claim “complete b******s”.

Over on Twitter, quite a few people disagreed…

Many of the responses had a distinctly sarcastic flavour…

But some people loved it.

The latest edition of The Spectator will be out tomorrow.
