'The special thing is' - Jurgen Klopp makes Sadio Mane claim after Liverpool beat Watford

Jurgen Klopp saluted the "world-class" quality of Sadio Mane after Liverpool beat Watford 5-0.

Mane opened the scoring in Saturday's early kick-off at Vicarage Road to reach 100 in the Premier League across spells with Southampton and the Reds.

Roberto Firmino also added a hat-trick as Mohamed Salah bagged his 10th goal of the season in the rout of Claudio Ranieri's Hornets.

Mane became just the third African to reach the tally behind Didier Drogba and Salah, while also becoming the third to do so without the help of penalties alongside Les Ferdinand and Emile Heskey.

Klopp said: "The special thing is, and we should not forget this, Sadio Mane has scored 100 goals without any penalties.

"I am not sure if he scored any for Southampton, but not that I know. So that makes a difference.

"It's a special number. It should be and will be something he will be proud of because it doesn't happen very often.

"But we don't have to talk about Sadio Mane's quality, he's a world-class player as well and it is incredible how good he is.

"So it was a big day for him and I am really happy for him."

Liverpool fly to Madrid on Monday ahead of their Champions League clash with Atletico at the Wanda Metropolitano.
