The special reason why Portland’s Terry Stotts wore a bow tie in Game 2

If you’re watching Game 2 of the Portland Trail Blazers-Denver Nuggets series tonight then you’ve probably seen Portland head coach Terry Stotts rocking a bow tie.

And while some are having fun with it on Twitter, there’s actually a special reason behind him wearing it.

It’s a tribute to Jon Yim, the team’s video coordinator & player development coach who was recently in a serious car accident in which he suffered a broken leg and a collapsed lung and is still in the hospital.

Yim had made “Bow Tie Wednesday” a tradition and now the coaches are paying their respects to him.

Stotts gave Yim a nice shoutout at the end of his in-game interview after the first quarter.

Here’s to coach Yim feeling better soon and getting back with his team.
