The Southport dad of two set to make his Channel 4 TV debut next week

A Southport based dad-of-two is set to make his TV debut on Channel 4 next week.

Peter Sinseeya from Southport is set to take on Come Dine with Me next week as he wows fellow home chefs on the hit TV show.

The 44-year-old has told the ECHO about his menu that mixes his Guyana heritage with British classics.

Peter told the ECHO : "For my dishes, because I'm half South American half British, I took the cast through my journey.

"It started off with a dish from my father's homeland, then for the main I put British and my father's heritage together and then did a British dessert. My thing was the taste of mixed race. That was my theme."

Peter initially applied for another television show that was due to start recording in the coming months but producers put Peter forward for Come Dine with Me where he found his feet.

Peter, a movie producer himself, would class himself as a '"home chef" with him living alone from an early age.

He told the ECHO: "I've lived by myself practically since I was 16 and I've lived in different countries. I've lived in South America for a bit, America for a bit, I've lived all over the UK.

"I enjoy cooking. I like good food and I have a creative spirit so I'm always inquisitive, that's what got me into film. My son said to me 'I could get an orange, a potato and a bit of ketchup, you could make something out of that' that's the type of person I am.

"I will find something out of nothing. If you give me a few things I will make something out of it. I've always been into cooking. I enjoy to eat."

Next week's run of episodes is set in the North West and will be on at 5pm each weekday next week. Peter's episode is scheduled to air on Thursday September 9.
