The solid Swansea City ratings as defender shows his colours while attacker enjoys great tussle with West Brom man

FREDDIE WOODMAN 6

For all of West Brom’s possession, Woodman enjoyed a relatively quiet 90 minutes all told. Had to be alert on a few occasions and made a good save to deny Callum Robinson.

KYLE NAUGHTON 7

Didn’t give Robinson much of a sniff down the right-hand side and limited the Sheffield United loanee to just one effort at goal.

Robinson was hooked in the second half as Bilic looked for something different.

BEN CABANGO 6

Kept Hal Robson-Kanu quiet throughout and played well alongside Rodon. Another encouraging display for Ryan Giggs to take note of.

JOE RODON 7 - Star man

A courageous display from the Welshman, who suffered an early blow to the head but returned with a Terry Butcher-esque bandage. Helped the Swans keep their first clean sheet since the draw against Wigan Athletic last month. Great challenge on Filip Krovinovic in the last quarter to deny him from scoring.

JAKE BIDWELL 6

Worked hard on the left-hand side of the back four and endured a busy afternoon.

JAY FULTON 6

Fluffed a huge opportunity to put Swansea ahead in the early stages of the second half after Grimes’ stinging effort forced Sam Johnstone into making a save.

MATT GRIMES  6

Turned defence into attack well and was calm in possession.

ALDO KALULU 5

Brought in for Jordon Garrick, who missed out through illness. The home fans would’ve feared the worse when he went down injured early on but put in a decent shift when he returned. Booked in the second half.

CONOR GALLAGHER 6

Linked up well with Brewster and Ayew but just couldn’t manage to unlock the Baggies’ defence.

ANDRE AYEW 6

Caused Dara O’Shea problems down the right-hand side and forced him into picking up an early booking.

RHIAN BREWSTER 6

Enjoyed a few opportunities at goal, most notably firing wide of Johnstone’s post in the first half. Enjoyed a good tussle with the Baggies’ defence.

Subs

NATHAN DYER (For Kalulu 67’) 6

Added to the Baggies’ frustrations after coming on and threw his body in the way of Livermore’s effort late on.
