The solid Cardiff City ratings as Dillon Phillips is pivotal and debutants show promise

Cardiff City extended their unbeaten run to 11 games under Mick McCarthy with a 0-0 draw with Huddersfield Town on Friday night.

Here's how the Bluebirds players rated:

DILLON PHILLIPS 8

Made a good save early on to deny Juninho Bacuna, and produced a brilliant save to keep out Alex Vallejo late on. Would have surely saved Sanogo's penalty too had it been on target after going the right way.

SEAN MORRISON 7

Reasonably solid all evening. Dominant in the air, and dealt with the dangers posed by Huddersfield reasonably comfortably. Couldn't make his mark as much as he would have liked in the set-piece though.

ADEN FLINT 7

Another solid showing at the back. Did his job with minimal fuss at the back, and proved a danger at the set-piece too.

CURTIS NELSON 6

Would have earned a seven were it not for his brainless tackle on Rowe for the penalty. Did do very well to keep Frazier Campbell quiet throughout the evening, mind.

TOM SANG 6

Defensively did his job well enough, but wasn't quite able to offer the attacking threat of Perry Ng. Certainly more to come, but Mick McCarthy will probably be pretty satisfied with how Sang's league debut went.

JOEL BAGAN 6

Did little wrong when he was on, although again didn't offer the attacking threat that his manager might have liked. Will be gutted to see his outing cut short so prematurely.

WILL VAULKS 7

Was his usual energetic self in the middle. Saw another long-range effort kept out just before the break. Didn't enjoy as much joy in the long throw as in previous weeks.

JOE RALLS 6

Plenty of effort, and was in and amongst things going forward, but struggled to find his usual fluency.

HARRY WILSON 6

Put in some decent deliveries, but on the whole a quiet performance.

JOSH MURPHY 6

Got himself in some decent positions, but decision-making sometimes let him down.

KIEFFER MOORE 6

Some nice touches, and threw himself around well, but couldn't find his usual predatory edge.

Subs

Ciaron Brown (on for Bagan 38) - Did reasonably well on his Championship debut, but McCarthy will be hoping there's more to come. 6

Sheyi Ojo (on for Murphy 58) - Couldn't quite get in the game, but would be unfair to single him out. 6

Marlon Pack (on for Wilson 86) - N/A
