The Snowman is coming to the Trafford Centre with a live orchestra this Christmas and it's completely free

A live orchestra will bring the classic tale of The Snowman to life at the Trafford Centre this Christmas.

The 'enchanting, live performance' by Manchester Camerata, is free to watch on The Orient main stage.

Families are invited to watch and listen as the much-loved Christmas classic is brought to life by a 26-piece live orchestra, conducted by George Jackson.

The free festive family show takes place on Friday, December 6 and there'll be two separate performances at 5pm and 6.30pm.

Alison Niven, centre director at intu Trafford Centre, said: “We’re delighted to welcome back Manchester Camerata, who are guaranteed to deliver an unmissable performance.

“The Snowman is a classic Christmas film that is much-loved by generations, so we hope that it gets everyone in the festive mood and makes the whole family smile.”

James Thomas, head of artistic development and programming for Manchester Camerata, added: “Following a series of exciting and massively successful orchestral events at intu Trafford Centre, we’re thrilled to be returning to perform this Christmas classic that is the perfect festive family show."

There are plenty more festive events at the centre too this christmas, including the Peter Rabbit Christmas Grotto , local choir and brass band performances, and the return of the Alpine Village .

Café Rouge has also introduced a limited edition The Snowman Afternoon Tea, which is running until January 5. The 'ultimate indulgent treat' includes three tiers of sweets, scones and a festive feast with 'a very special Festive Croque'.
