The smartest people I know use multifunctional furniture to utilize space – Trisha Yearwood designed a table that makes it simpler (for under $400)

An end table can be a fabulous accent piece in a living room or bedroom, but all too often, it comes up short when it comes to providing ample storage.

When we saw that Trisha Yearwood's Wayfair collection offered an option that provides function with style, we were intrigued. The Georgia End Table (available at Wayfair) is giving us some major storage ideas, with its antique feel and double shelves.

Open and closed shelving both have their benefits, so the fact that this side table has both makes it perfect for both displaying and tucking away items. The most intelligent people I know use pieces like this to utilize every inch of space in their small living rooms, and this table just made it even easier to follow their ideology.

The cabinet feature on this end table is ideal for small items that you might want to have on hand, but don't necessarily want to be showing off. On the other hand, the bottom shelf is perfect for stacking books, placing a decorative object, or even leaving open. The intricate design between the table's legs acts as a focal point, so less is more when it comes to decorating the table.

Additionally, it is highly durable in its wood material, while the burnished, distressed effect gives it a rustic feel. The dark brown hue instantly warms up a space, and is neutral enough to pair with practically any existing color scheme.

At just over $490, this is a deal we can get behind (its original price is nearly double). It's ultra-stylish and taps into a way of living that experts endorse.

'When selecting furniture for small spaces, it's crucial to think beyond size and consider multifunctionality. Each piece should serve more than one purpose to really maximise the utility of the space,' comments Tanya Rechberger, the design development manager at King Living. We need no further encouragement to follow suit.
