The six-season Chelsea record Tammy Abraham broke with his two goals against Norwich City

Chelsea's 3-2 win over Norwich City on Saturday has proven to be an historic one in many ways.

The obvious one is that it's the first competitive victory under new head coach Frank Lampard at the fourth time of asking across all competitions.

Secondly - and perhaps most importantly - Tammy Abraham has opened his account in the Premier League for the Blues with two goals, including the winner, at Carrow Road.

His first came early in the first-half as he met a cross with a crisp volley, but the hosts twice levelled through Todd Cantwell and Teemu Pukki to provide hope of at least a point.

But Abraham had other ideas as his 68th minute strike proved to be the difference between the two sides.

And the academy graduate has further reason to celebrate.

Thanks to the 'Sky Sports Statto' Twitter account, it's been revealed that Abraham made history at Carrow Road.

His two goals against the Premier League newboys means he's the first Chelsea player since November 2013 to score at least a brace in a Premier League game for the club.

Of course the record was previously held by the man who showed faith in Abraham against the Canaries - head coach Frank Lampard.

Someone else who has faith in Abraham is ex-Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole.

Speaking on BT Sport on Saturday, the pundit has backed the striker to be the Blues' leading striker for many years to come.

"Tammy has all the attributes to be a Chelsea centre-forward in the long run because of his pace, his strength, his hold-up play," Cole said.

"If he keeps improving, he's a young man, then there's no reason why he can't become Chelsea's number nine for many, many years.

"It was lovely to see his face, he's been here 15 years, and to score his goals was great.

"What he brings that Giroud doesn't is this little burst of pace."
