The Six Nations results that would see Wales and France share the title after Scotland decider in Paris

Americans often scratch their heads over cricket, failing to understand how a game can unfold over five days and sometimes end in a draw.

How would they feel over a championship that can last six weeks and still finish with a shared title?

It is not inconceivable that will prove the fate of the 2021 Six Nations on Friday evening.

Improbable, yes, but not inconceivable.

If France secure a bonus-point win over Scotland by exactly 20 points and score exactly five tries, then both Les Bleus and Wales will be level on points, points difference and tries scored.

In the event of such a scenario unfolding, the rules state the two teams involved will be placed equally.

Bookmakers make Wales favourites to take the title.

The title hasn’t been shared since 1988.

The teams who divided up the honours back then?

Wales and France, of course.

Who else?
