The Simpsons has long been known to eerily predict future events long before they occur, and it seems they have done it again.
The show’s producer, Al Jean, took to social media to point out yet another prediction that has since become a reality - this time guessing that Trump would run for the presidency in 2024.
His post came hours after Donald Trump’s announcing that he would run for US president in 2024, and showed a still from an episode back in 2015 which shows a “Trump 2024” poster behind Homer.

The Simpsons’ writers are well known for their seemingly psychic abilities, having hinted back in 2000 that Trump would one day become US President.
The episode, titled Bart To The Future, showed Lisa Simpson acting as US president and telling her advisers “as you know we’ve inherited quite a budget cut from President Trump”.
At the time when people were pointing to the prediction, Al Jean said there were “two types" of Simpsons predictions but that the Trump one was simply an “insane coincidence”.

Among the other things the Simpsons have predicted well in advance of them actually occurring in real life are:
- The Siegfried and Roy tiger attack
- The horsemeat scandal in Ireland
- Autocorrect technology
- Smart watches
- The Ebola outbreak
- Faulty voting machines
