If the government shutdown continues into next week, financial aid to farmers impacted by the trade war could temporarily stop, CNBC reports.

The big picture: The government is expected to be closed due to lapse of funding until at least December 27th, which is when the Senate next convenes. The $12 billion aid package that was approved earlier this year helps wheat, soybean, cotton, dairy, hog, sorghum, almond, and corn producers, according to CNBC.
