The shock Timo Werner Liverpool transfer clause that could green light £50m Premier League switch

Liverpool will consider loaning Timo Werner back to RB Leipzig if they land him this summer - according to a report.

The in-demand Germany international is Jurgen Klopp 's No.1 summer target as he looks to keep the good times coming at Anfield.

Liverpool are on the verge of their first Premier League title in 30 years and have a formidable frontline of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah already in place.

Klopp is still keen to strengthen but Bild report he may sanction an instant return to his homeland for a player who is keen for a fresh challenge.

Various reports suggested the 24-year-old could be had for €30m (£25m) but it's understood it will cost £50m to prize him away from the Bundesliga.

And Werner - who has scored 28 goals in 39 appearances this season - has made no secret of his admiration for Liverpool.

He said: "Yes I know that Liverpool is the best team in the world at the moment.

"When you're linked with that team it makes you very proud but in case of that, it's a pleasure, but I know Liverpool have a lot of good players.

"I have to improve myself and to learn much more things to get on this level and to play there."
