The shock Odsonne Edouard transfer price-up as ex-Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers tipped to miss out

Premier League side Arsenal are the clear betting favourites to sign Odsonne Edouard if he leaves Celtic this summer.

The Gunners' odds are as short as 5/2 after a spate of bets over the last week with 51 per cent of all money being lumped on them securing the France U21 international.

It comes after Celtic boss Neil Lennon insisted he will do all he can to keep his main man with his side only one title away from an unprecedented 10 in a Row.

Manchester United are second favourites at 6/1 but the Red Devils appear more likely to target Edouard's close pal Moussa Dembele and net Celtic a sizeable sell-on fee in the process.

But one man who appears to be on the outside looking in is Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers. Record Sport exclusively revealed in January that the Irishman was poised to table a £30m bid this summer.

But the Foxes are only eighth favourites to secure the 22-year-old if he was to depart Glasgow despite their serious interest in the player.

Uncertainty looms large amid the coronavirus pandemic but it's clear Edouard remains one of the most in-demand players in Europe.

Callum Wilson, Oddschecker 's spokesperson, said: “With 22 goals, Odsonne Edouard was running away with the Scottish Premiership top scorer accolade before the season was prematurely brought to a halt.

“Fine domestic form and a string of incredibly impressive performances in Europe not surprisingly piqued the interest of Arsenal and United.

“With Aubameyang seemingly leaving the former after this summer, Edouard could well be the replacement waiting in the wings.”

Celtic supporters remain hopeful their 28-goal striker from last season will stick around a little bit longer as he remained in Scotland in recent months as COVID-19 rages across the globe.
