The shock Arsenal omission from the top 50 most valuable young players in Europe's big leagues

Two Arsenal stars have been included in a list of the 50 players born in this millennium with the highest transfer values.

William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli have both been included on a list of the top 50 footballers born in or after the year 2000 with the highest transfer values, according to the CIES football observatory algorithm.

But there is no place for Bukayo Saka on the list of the 50 players from the top five European leagues, despite his form for the Gunners this season.

Saka has impressed for Arsenal in the Premier League and Europa League, establishing himself at left-back in Mikel Arteta’s side in the absence of Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac, who have both been out injured at times this season.

The most expensive Premier League transfers ever

However, Saka is not on the list, which is topped by Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho, who has been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United.

Sancho is a long way out in front in terms of his estimated transfer value, which is £198.5million, according to the list.

His Borussia Dortmund team-mate Erling Haaland is second on the list, with an estimated transfer value of €101million.

Real Madrid duo Rodrygo Goes (€88.9million) and Vinicius Junior (€73.9million) are third and fourth on the list, with Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi (€72.3million) completing the top five.

Saliba, who is currently on loan at St Etienne from Arsenal, is 20 on the list with an estimated value of €26.7million, just ahead of Martinelli in 21 with an estimated transfer value of €25.2million.

Several other players from the Premier League are on the list, including Watford’s Joao Pedro, Brighton’s Aaron Connolly and Manchester City’s Eric Garcia.
