In-demand Moussa Dembele's potential move to Manchester United could be scuppered by a cut-price Juventus plan - which could leave Celtic minus a transfer jackpot.
The frontman has been told he can leave Lyon after talks stalled over a new deal and the arrival of former Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette put his starting spot in doubt early in the Ligue 1 campaign. The former Celtic star is reportedly being tracked by a host of English Premier League sides after the 26-year-old managed 22 goals last term in a lacklustre campaign for Lyon. United, Tottenham, Southampton, Fulham and Everton have all been credited with an interest.
With a host of big spending clubs looking to deal in the Frenchman, Lyon are reportedly looking to recoup at least the £20million they paid out to take the frontman from Celtic Park. Celtic have a 15 percent sell-on clause which could see the club net a £3million payday.
But RMC Sport have claimed Juventus could look to steal a march on their rivals and sign the striker next summer on a free transfer. The Serie A giants have regularly used the free agent market to their advantage, including to recruit the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Paul Pogba in recent seasons on bumper deals without forking out a transfer fee.
While Lyon are keen to secure a transfer fee, reports in France have suggested that Dembele is in no rush to leave the club, and is weighing up his options for this summer and at the end of the campaign. A move to the Turin giants could spell bad news for the Hoops.
