Shark is best known for making products that suck – but the vacuuming giant’s last product blows. Delightfully named the Shark blastboss, the handheld blower uses 190mph gusts to blast away your mess. It’s cordless, cute, costs £129.99 and is available in strawberry pink.
You’d be forgiven for being skeptical, given the date, but the Shark blastboss is real. Essentially a miniature leaf blower with a broom attachment, it’s designed for blasting dirt and detritus from your patio, your car and (if you’re feeling brave) your living room.
Shark loftily calls it an “indoor-outdoor air blasting system”, designed to bridge the gap between bulky, deafening garden blowers and those cans of compressed air you use to clean crumbs out of your laptop keyboard.

The compact, battery-powered unit features a variable-speed trigger that can dial the airflow all the way up to a staggering 190mph. That’s the top speed of a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, so should be enough to handle the odd cobweb.
To stop you immediately blasting your important paperwork out of the window, the blastboss comes with a suite of interchangeable attachments designed for precision. The most interesting of the bunch is the blastbroom, which pairs a traditional sweeping brush with directed airflow to lift and launch debris in a single pass – ideal for clearing sawdust off a garage floor or blasting wet leaves off the patio before a barbecue.

You also get an extension wand for reaching under the sofa and a precision nozzle that concentrates the airflow into a tight stream. This turns the blastboss into a high-powered duster, perfect for blasting biscuit crumbs out of your keyboard, clearing the vents in your car dashboard, or evicting spiders from hard-to-reach window tracks.
We’re big fans of Shark’s cordless vacuums here at IndyBest, so a portable Shark air blaster is an intriguing pivot. This isn’t the brand’s first foray into air treatment products, either. Shark recently launched the equally silly-sounding Shark chillpill, a handheld fan that my colleague Alex has been using to stay cool.
While I wouldn’t recommend using the Shark blastboss to dust the fine china, the appeal of a lightweight, grab-and-go blower for blitzing the car boot or mucking out the driveway is undeniable.
The Shark blastboss is available to buy now from the Shark website. It costs £129.99 and comes in five pastel colourways – charcoal, dove, strawberry, sky, and sage – meaning it won’t look like a piece of heavy industrial machinery if you leave it sitting in the hallway. Stay tuned for our review.
