The shameless fly-tipper caught on camera dumping rubbish on a country lane next to Manchester Airport

A shameless fly-tipper was caught on camera dumping bags of rubbish by the side of a country lane.

Footage shows the man remove at least five bin bags from the boot of his Peugeot along with several other items before dumping them in a lay-by and driving off.

The incident took place on Moss Lane in Styal near Manchester Airport on Saturday, May 8, CheshireLive reports.

The clip's been shared more than 1,200 times after Danny Cawley, who recorded it, posted it on social media.

Mr Cawley said: "Very disappointing from this elderly gent.

Facebook users agreed with Danny's sentiment, one said: "They just don't give a toss do they."

Another commented: "The bloody tip only a couple of miles away - really hope he is caught."

Cheshire East Council are said to be 'looking into it'.

When approached by CheshireLive, Cheshire Constabulary said were unaware of the situation.

A spokesman said: "If you suspect someone isn’t a legitimate waste provider, please report this to your local authority.

"If you see, or suspect fly tipping in progress, please dial 999 - that’s because it’s a criminal offence and a crime in progress."
