The seven streets in Leeds we all wish we lived on

Many people who do not know Leeds very well consider it to be something of a concrete jungle.

They see it as Yorkshire's city-city - a place that is all centre and no countryside, with few rural spots in which to settle for a taste of the quiet life.

But, as this list will attest, they could not be more wrong!

Leeds is blessed with an abundance of picturesque, tree-lined streets in the suburbs and countryside lanes with views of fields and rolling hills.

Sadly, though unsurprisingly, many of these fine spaces come with rather a hefty price tag - but here are the streets in Leeds that we would love to live in, if only we had the pennies...

Manor House Lane

Manor House Lane in Alwoodley (Google Maps)

The leafy Manor House Lane in Alwoodley is a spot in Leeds where houses sell for an average of £1,619,000.

But, far from only being pricey, the area is set in some glorious countryside - with beautiful views all around and within close proximity to Leeds Grammar School.

Roundhay Park Lane

Another green and leafy lane, Roundhay Park Lane also benefits from a glorious countryside location and hosts some beautifully spacious houses.

Unsurprisingly, this one is also not cheap with houses selling for an average price of £1,618,000. But it's certainly on the lottery-win-bucket list!

Ling Lane

A little less isolated than the first two, Ling Lane is a more populous residential area with houses set back from a picturesque tree-lined street.

And the houses - which sell for an average price of £1,544,000 - are all huge, with fabulous gardens and enviable gated driveways to boot.

Harewood Road

Not too far away is Harewood Road, where houses sell for an average price of £1,461,000.

It is yet more populous and set on a main road, but with large houses and accompanying large gardens, that provide plenty of space for families.

Adel Lane

Adel Lane in Adel (Google Maps)

The beautifully leafy street of Adel Lane is home to houses that sell for an average price of £912,498 and there are plenty of them.

Set in a populous residential spot, the houses still manage to be nicely spaced out to provide families with large, private homes.

Linton Lane

Linton Lane in Wetherby (Google Maps)

Houses in Linton Lane sell for an average price of £1,900,000 and it is easy to see why.

Set back from the road, the houses - with gorgeous front gardens - are set in yet another leafy part of Leeds, with close access to some lovely areas in which to enjoy a pleasant stroll.

Shaftesbury Avenue

You simply cannot beat a truly tree-lined street, which is why Shaftesbury Avenue gets a mention on our list.

The spacious terraced houses are also at least a bit more affordable than the other homes on this list, as average house prices in this street hovering around the £570,500 mark.
