The seven Liverpool stars set to be sold this summer to fund exciting £40m signing

Liverpool will reportedly sell a host of promising young players including Harry Wilson, Sheyi Ojo, Marko Grujic and Wales international Ben Woodburn to fund a move for RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konate.

The Anfield outfit have a number of youngsters heading back to Merseyside this summer with their futures well and truly up in the air.

Wilson and Ojo both enjoyed decent seasons at Cardiff City this term, with the Wales international finishing the season in particularly strong fashion.

Meanwhile, former Bluebirds loanee Grujic spent another season out on loan at Porto, while Woodburn returned to Liverpool from his loan spell at Blackpool half-way through the season.

Goal claim that all four of the above, plus Divock Origi, Loris Karius and Liam Miller, are likely to depart this summer, while the futures of Xherdan Shaqiri and Takumi Minamino are unclear.

The sales will likely drum up some serious cash and the club will look to use that to fund the £40m signing of the Leipzig centre-back.

The Bluebirds have made no secret of the fact they'd like to re-sign Wilson should he be available this summer, but that would be only occur should another loan deal be on the table.

"I would imagine Liverpool will be looking to sell him," City chairman Mehmet Dalman t old BBC Radio Wales earlier this month.

"Liverpool knows our desire to have him back. If there’s any change in the circumstances there I’m pretty confident Liverpool will let us know.”

Wilson, for his part, says he is concentrating on this summer's European Championships before considering what his future holds.

"Not yet, my focus is on finishing the season strong here at Cardiff and then going to the Euros with Wales and doing will there," he said last month.

"Whatever happens off the back of that will happen.

"I think it would be silly of me to look beyond that with such an important summer coming up in the international level."

The same publication state that Ojo could be available for loan again, something which may interest Mick McCarthy.

Wilson has been at Liverpool since the age of nine but the winger says he feels his senior career has been "elsewhere" after various loan stints.

"Yeah, maybe," he said, when asked if it would be strange to leave Merseyside for good.

"I feel my senior career has been elsewhere so far.

"150-200 appearances deep now and only a couple have been at Liverpool.

"The club will always be close to my heart, but if it means moving away to further my career then so be it."
