The seven Liverpool players who Jurgen Klopp could be missing for Crystal Palace trip

Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp couldn't have hoped for a much better start to the season.

The Reds are top of the Premier League, eight points clear of Leicester City and Chelsea in second and third place. They have won 12 of their opening 13 games and are the only team in the league yet to experience losing this season.

But, Klopp's men have a tough game coming up after the international break as they travel to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace, who are notoriously difficult to beat under Roy Hodgson.

The difficult task has been made all the more difficult with Liverpool suffering somewhat of an injury crisis over the international break, with as many as seven players potentially unavailable to the Reds manager.

Joel Matip, Xherdan Shaqiri and Nathaniel Clyne are three players who won't be available for the match, with all three still recovering from injuries picked up earlier in the season.

There has also been four more players who have been forced to pull out of their international squads over the last week.

Perhaps most significant is Mohamed Salah, who has returned to Melwood with an ankle injury, leaving Klopp sweating on his fitness.

Full-back Andy Robertson has withdrawn from the Scotland squad after a similar injury, making him a doubt for the trip to Palace.

Two England internationals have also returned to Liverpool following the qualifier vs Montenegro; Captain Jordan Henderson has been suffering with a virus and was an unused substitute for Gareth Southgate, while defender Joe Gomez has picked up a knee injury during training on Friday.

It is unknown how long the duo will be out of action, but Klopp faces a race against time should he want them to be available for next weekend.
