The Serie A deadline that could force Leeds United owner into Christmas takeover decision

Andrea Radrizzani could be forced into a quickfire decision about his Leeds United ownership, according to football finance expert Kieran Maguire.

The Whites owner has not hidden his desire to own a Serie A club, but current laws over dual ownership prohibit him from doing so.

Radrizzani spoke about his attempt to buy Serie A side Salernitana, who are in the midst of a financial expert, but claims he did not get a response from the Italian hierarchy.

San Francisco 49ers recent investment into the club has only heightened speculation regarding Radrizzani's Leeds United future.

Salernitana have until 31 December to find a new owner or they will be expelled from the division, and the Leeds United boss will be eagerly watching on.

"Salernitana are in a fire sale scenario, and a fire sale comes at discount prices," Maguire told Football Insider.

“There will be a number of people circling round, some of whom will be tyre kickers, some of whom will be more serious.

“Radrizzani has the experience of running a football club, which is beneficial.

“I am sure he will be considering all options with regards to this but his main focus will still be on Leeds United regardless of the outcome.”
