The secret Scottish cottage Prince William 'whisked' Kate Middleton to as young lovers

Prince William and Kate Middleton 's love story is famously Scottish. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge first met and fell in love as University of St Andrews students, though they found ways to keep their romance private.

The royal couple met in 2001 and it's said Kate caught William's eye at a charity fashion show. During their courtship, the young couple would go on holiday at Tam-na-Ghar cottage - a gift to Prince William bestowed by his great-grandmother, The Queen Mother, before her death in 2002.

Located close to Birkhall in Scotland, the three-bedroom cottage was in close proximity to St Andrews and Balmoral Castle. It's reported that this was where the two "enjoyed some of their happiest times together there'" MyLondon reported.

"We obviously met at university - at St Andrews we were friends for over a year first and it just sort of blossomed from then on," William revealed in an interview. "We just spent more time with each other, had a good giggle, had lots of fun and realised we shared the same interests and had a really good time."

The pair have continued to utilise the cottage throughout their relationship and, more recently, the Duke and Duchess returned to the cottage in 2019 for a summer holiday with their three children.

Kate and William currently live in London, but there are rumours that the Cambridges are set to move to Windsor.

The Mirror reported Prince George and his sister Charlotte could be starting a brand new school in September.

The potential candidate for George's new school is Lambrook, near Ascot, reported the MailOnline. Prince William and Kate have been visiting the school "multiple times" - with William even chatting about Latin classes to one of the pupils.

Lambrook charges up to £7,000 a term - plus a further £1,481 for boarding fees. The fact that the school is co-educational means Charlotte and Louis could both also attend the school together.
