The second disastrous record Nottingham Forest must overcome to beat Sheffield Wednesday

Nottingham Forest went into their last home game against Cardiff City with an awful recent record against their opponents - and they lost again.

The Reds have lost nine of their last 10 games against the Bluebirds after being beaten 1-0 late last month.

Forest have not won in their last three Championship games and have taken only 10 points from nine home games this season - the 16th best record in the Division.

To make matters worse, later today they Sheffield Wednesday in the knowledge their record is virtually as bad against the Owls as it is against Cardiff.

That is because the Reds have lost eight of their previous 10 meetings with Wednesday.

Although goals from Lewis Grabban and Joao Carvalho saw them win 2-1 at the City Ground last September, Forest have to go back to August 2014 for their previous victory in the fixture, when Henri Lansbury got the only goal at Hillsbrough.

Wednesday won the subsequent seven meetings between the teams, outscoring Forest by 16 goals to three.

They also came out on top in the most meeting, 3-0 back in April.
