The Script's guitarist and co-founder Mark Sheehan has died, age 46.
The band made the announcement on Twitter while sharing a photo of their late friend. The statement said: "Much loved husband, father, brother, band mate and friend Mark Sheehan passed away today in hospital after a brief illness.
"The family and group ask fans to respect their privacy at this tragic time."

Last year Mark was forced to step away from the US leg of their tour with frontman Danny O’Donoghue stating it was due to family concerns.
Speaking to the Sunday World at the time, he said: "It’s his story to tell, but yeah, I guess if I could paraphrase, his children needed a father and his wife needed a husband."
