The Scouse teenager wowing audiences on hit BBC show The Greatest Dancer

A Scouse teenager is aiming to be the "best performer that ever lived" after wowing audiences on The Greatest Dancer.

Harrison Vaughan, 16, is taking part in the quarter finals of the BBC dance show this weekend and is asking for Scousers to get behind him and vote for him to get to the next round.

Harrison has been performing since he was a child and enjoys acting and singing as well as dance.

The Huyton teen is coached by Glee star Matthew Morrison on the show - and Matthew thinks he can make it right to the top.

Harrison said: "It's easily the best thing I've ever done. I started dancing when I was ten and I love all kinds of dance, such as jazz and modern.

"But I train in ballet, tap and commercial too at Jelli Studios.

"When I was 12 or 13 I realised I just wanted to dance professionally, I love the way it makes me feel."

Judges on the show include Cheryl Cole, Oti Mabuse and Todrick Hall alongside Matthew, with Curtis Pritchard also featuring on the programme.

And Harrison said he has been made to feel welcome by them all.

He said: "They are the nicest people I've ever met, everyone is so friendly backstage.

"Matthew has been so supportive and really helped me on the show."

The winner of the show gets to dance on Strictly Come Dancing and also receives £50,000.

Harrison said: "My aim in life is to be best the best performer that there's ever been.

"I've been on the West End in Matilda and would love to do more of that - just take any opportunities that come my way."

This week Harrison will take on a dance fusion challenge and was given tap as the style he has to work on this week.

He added: "It's a big challenge, but I've been training hard, I just need everyone to get behind me and vote, it would mean so much."

*The Greatest Dancer continues at 7pm on BBC1 on Saturday
