The schools in Neath Port Talbot being used as polling stations for the General Election 2019

A number of primary schools will be closed on December 12 so they can be used as polling stations instead.

Neath Port Talbot council has confirmed eight schools across the borough will be closed on Thursday, December 12.

Other schools will be used as polling stations but will remain open to pupils as voting takes place in a separate room.

The borough is split into two constituencies -  Neath and Aberavon - and has a total of 105 polling stations.

The schools closed in Neath:

  • Maesmarchog Primary School
  • Llangiwg Primary School
  • Rhydyfro Primary School

The schools closed in the Aberavon constituency:

  • Sandfields Primary School
  • Blaen Baglan Primary School
  • YGG Tyle’r Ynn
  • Crymlyn Primary School
  • Coedffranc Primary School (being used for this election as normal polling station was fully booked)

The following schools are also being used in Aberavon constituency but  remain open to pupils  as polling is taking place in a separate community room:

  • Pen Afan Primary School
  • Coed Hirwaun Primary School
  • Awel-Y-Mor Primary School
