Vanessa White has welcomed her first child, revealing the birth of a baby boy and sharing his name with fans.
The Saturdays singer, 35, announced the happy news on Instagram, posting a series of radiant snaps cradling her newborn. Branding him “our darling boy”, White confirmed his name as Sage Remi-Bisaya Lawal.
In another sweet image, she shared a teddy bear wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the name “Sage”.
Her former bandmates were quick to send their congratulations. Frankie Bridge wrote: “Awww congrats babe,” while Una Healy added: “Congratulations Ness, so beautiful.” Rochelle Humes also joined in, posting: “The best news, all that hair.”
Sage is the first child for White and her husband Emmanuel Lawal. The couple revealed they were expecting last year and, just weeks later, tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony.
The Ego hit-maker and Lawal wed at Hackney Town Hall last month in front of just two guests, with the singer heavily pregnant on the day. Images from the ceremony were shared exclusively with British Vogue, with one of the guests acting as the couple’s personal photographer.
Speaking to the fashion publication, White said of the low-key wedding: “It was so nice. I really do recommend people just going off and doing it on their own.”

For the ceremony, the singer wore a chic Self-Portrait x Christopher Kane dress, while both bride and groom opted for Christian Louboutin shoes.
She added: “It’s so funny, because you imagine what you’re going to get married in, and for a registry I thought I’d wear some sort of cool suit, but being pregnant, that was never going to work. When I tried on the dress, I knew it had to be it.”
While their wedding was intimate, White revealed that the couple are already planning a much larger summer celebration abroad, with baby Sage set to play a starring role as pageboy.
“Knowing that he will be there is the nicest thing,” she said.
White first rose to fame with The Saturdays in 2008, enjoying a string of hit singles before the group parted ways in 2014. She later pursued solo music and has since become a regular fixture on London’s fashion and social scene.
